Best Droid Bionic case and accessories

Like most smart phones, finding the right Droid Bionic case or accessories can make your device much more useful. The Droid Bionic is one of the best Android phones available for Verizon. It has a 4.3 inch display, dual CPU cores, a 8 megapxiel camera that can capture 720p video and a front facing VGA camera for video calls. All of these features make the Bionic a power packed phone, but you can make the device even better by picking the right accessories.

Case

Cell phone cases are an inexpensive way to protect a Droid from damage that comes with every day usage. The most popular cases for the Bionic are the holster, glove and skin cases. Holsters are cases made from thick padded materials like leather or plastic. The padding gives a cushion of protection if you should happen to drop your device. Holsters have a strong clip that is used to hold the case securely on to a belt or backpack strap. The best holster cases have a mechanism that allow the clip to rotate 360 degrees which makes it less likely that the holster will get stuck in an uncomfortable position while you are wearing it. These cases also have extra features like a flap that can secure the Droid in place if the holster is bounced around.

The downside to holster cases is that they only guard the Bionic when it is not in use. If you want more full time protection, a glove case may be better suited to your needs. Glove cases are made of similar material to holster like leather, silicone or plastic but have much less padding. They are made to stay on the phone at all times and have cut outs to access the display and key functions. Glove cases do provide some protection against drops but since they stay on the Bionic at all times. They also guard against scratches. In addition, gloves come in many styles in colors so they are a great way to change the look of your phone to your taste.

Though glove cases are great at shielding your phones, they do so at the cost of adding some bulk to your device. If the idea of carrying around more weight then you have to doesn’t appeal to you and you are not the type of person to drop your phone, a skin case may be more to your taste. Skin cases are made from very thin sheets of durable polymer which are adhered directly on to the Bionic. The skins shields your device from scratches but at the same time do not change the look and weight of the Bionic.

Screen protector

The Droid Bionic’s 4.3 inch touch screen is one the nicest and largest displays available on any smart phone. If you want to keep the display clear of scratches or other minor marks, it is a good idea to use a screen protector. These thin sheets of durable plastic will guard your device from minor accidents that would otherwise mark up your display.

Charger

You can sync and charge this phone through its microUSB port. Even though the Bionic already comes with its own power cable, additional chargers are a great convenience. For example, having a microUSB charging cable at work can allow you to charge your device at desk without having to carry the cable back and forth from your job. Having a microUSB car charger always in your vehicle will let you charge the device at the times you are running low on power when you are on the road.

More memory

The Bionic has 14 GB of space built into the device to hold downloaded apps, movies and mp3. This may be enough space for some people, but if you are one of those people who needs additional space you can upgrade the memory via the microSD port. This Motorola phone can take up to a 32 GB microSDHC which will give you more than twice the space. The microSD port is located with the phone’s battery and will require you to remove any Motorola Bionic case to access.
